sometimes the shape and size of goods being packed into the container, my husband and I had to pack two 20ft containers to send our household goods plus short wheel base 4x4 and 4x4 work trailer,some household goods and 4x4 went in one container, then again some household goods and 4x4 trailer went in the next it would not have all fitted into a 40ft being long and narrow and odd shapes. Beleave me it was packed.I had a furniture removal company. When you are told a cubic mtr that is exactly what they go by. Hence a lot of space can be wasted. When you are given a price for a container that is normally the price what you fit into it is up to you. we packed and unpacked these containers 9 times. If you need more info let me know.
