I first stayed there in August 2003. I walked into the reception. I realised there were not many people staying there. I asked how much. I can't remember what their opening offer was, but nowhere near $62. Because I was looking to stay several days, I got an excellent price. When I am negotiating like this I never have my luggage on view, looking like I just have to get somewhere for the night.
I'm not interested in screwing them or driving them into the ground. I'm always happy with a "good for you, good for me" price. I stayed there again in August 2004 and the manager and staff treated me as a friend, so they were obviously happy with what I paid. Naturally, they'll get more if they can. I would not contact them until you are in Bali.
Resor Prima is just a few minutes walk down a sealed road through the coconut and banana groves from the Legends Cafe end of the Candi Dasa main street. You feel more like you are in a little Balinese village. Very peaceful spot. If you are interested in day/half-day trips from there, many good places to go.
