My son's wife grew up in a village near GitGit and Dayu's brother Agus is a driver. It was lucky for us that we got Agus to drive us to Lovina and back, taking in various places on the way. I am familiar with the GitGit "shopping mall". I know they all need to make a living, but???
Before we got to GitGit, coming in from the south, Agus turned into a little unsealed laneway, cutting back off the main road at a sharp angle. A short drive and we were in a small carpark. We were the only car there and I think we paid 1000 to park. Then a longish pleasant walk on an adequate path, through mainly natural greenery,
with the sound of the river gradually getting louder.
Over a couple of bamboo bridges and a bit more walking and we were at one small shop, no hassling, selling cool drinks and snacks etc. Also a public toilet, price I think 1000.
A little further and a nice pool under a beautiful waterfall [and you probably wouldn't need your bathers!] I hope next time I'm there it hasn't turned into another "side-show alley".
