If baby has ear trouble on the plane arrange for a drink with a straw. Pinch the straw slightly as they drink and the extra suck they use will help pop their ears.
Take, or buy there, one of those trigger spray bottles. Fill it with water (not from the tap of course) and set the nozzle to a fine mist. When things get a bit too hot just give the tot a cooling spray.
