As I understand, there are a lot of things that will determine how hard it is to find accomodation. I'm one of those that really prefers to just show up and try my luck. We'll be arriving in the mid afternoon next Friday and are trying to get a feel for how full hotels are.
It's between New Years and Chinese New Years (Feb 9th), It's rainy season, some are worried about security . . . there are so many things that affect occupancy rates.
So just give me a quick feel for how you assess the current situation. I.e. "I'm staying at a popular 3-star hotel, and it's 90% full." OR "We're staying at a nice little losmen that only has a couple of other guests."
This may help us determine how desperate we are as we search for a place next week.
