giving stuff away

We are going to Bali in a few weeks and have packed hardly anything but stuff to give away. We visit a school way out in the sticks and have purchased exercise books here for 1 cent to give to them does any one know about excess baggage going into Bali? Can we contact the airline and ask if we can take extra?
