Single day motorbike adventures

My hubby and I's FAVORITE thing to do on our travels is to rent a motorcycle for the day and zoom around, getting hopelessly lost (but that's the whole point!!)

We have a short leg of our trip in Bali (12 days)

In terms of positioning ourselves in a town to offer the best day trips (and believe me, we can cover a lot of ground in one day)... what town would you recommend.

I am debating first whether Bali or Lombok is better for single-day motorbike adventures.

In Bali... I was thinking Ubud or Lovina....

In Lombok... I was thinking Kuta.

Any advice on routes would be valued

We will be there in March... to keep in mind the weather.

I would appreciate any thoughts on this.
