My opinion from 15 trips to Bali is: It depends on where you are going. For February (wet season), YOU DEFINITELY NEED MALARIA PILLS IF YOU ARE GOING TO LOMBOK. As for Bali, if you are only staying in the Kuta/Legian/Sanur/Nusa Dua areas then probably not. And probably not if you are only taking day trips outside of the Southern Tourist Areas. But beware: Malarial mosquitos start biting at about DUSK, so after about 4:00 P.M. you could be at risk in areas where there is standing water. So even day trips, if they leave such areas in the late afternoon, could put you at risk.
