Hi All - travel dates approx 19Jan - 2Feb
New to forum but originally travelled Bali in 80's when dirt roads.
I am coming up with hubby + 2 girls 10 and 131/2. I went up in Jan 2001 but stayed very cheaply at Bali Coconut Legian. We would like to stay say Padma, Jayakrta, Mandira but as 2 girls are giants really need proper beds so 2 rooms needed which will double cost.
I am keen on Legian, Semiyak area but do know Tuban as have stayed at Santika Plaza.
Our budget is US 80 or AUD 100 approx which includes brekkie.
What if you just do a walkup to a hotel... I am airline staff any others airliners on forum who can give tips.
I am thinking Puri Raja and asking for 2 rooms side by side. Would like a hotel where girls might meet similar age kids. Hubby and I like the odd chat ( thats why we like the forum) so plan on going to find the S and S meeting spot in Legian. Would like to meet some of you most interesting characters in person.
A couple of other things:
1. Surfboard covers - where can i find and approx how much.
2. Would it be possible to get a tailor to make a couple of runners and square chair covers from material I bring up with me or will they think I am weird. Also anyone have any ideas on cost.
3. My sister- in - law wants me to find some material ( blue/yellows ) to have a throw cover made for her 2 seater couch. Possible ? and best place to find such material - also cost.
4. Rash shirts - if I can find some material to take with me would a tailor be able to do.
5.Shoes - any good suggestions for getting 2 BIGFOOT girls some winter boots made and approx cost....short boots.
6. ART - My friends bought a couple of nice Bali artworks home...any suggestions on places to see these.
7. I have read the Forum and some people seem to shop in Denpasar...I am a bit wary of doing this by myself...what things are availble there but not in Kuta/Leg etc.
8. Homewares - soft furnishings ....runners, bedspreads..water fountains...Bali furniture ....I bought a nice kind of teapot in Kuta last time...sits in my foyer...anyone know someone up there who could give advice.
9. This tired body loves massages so any beach person near legian area and any very reasonable spas would be appreciated. Approx cost.
