Stayed there for a few days in August. A standard villa is well worth the extra couple of dollars or so over the price of a std room. A superior villa is similar to a std, but has a small kitchenette.
The std villas are on the first floor, giving pleasant [not magnificent] semi-rural views. Large airy bedroom with large comfortable bed. Aircon, fridge, TV. Large en-suite with H&C and western style toilet. Small private balcony for sitting out. Clean and tidy.
Breakfasts are adequate and we enjoyed every one. Eaten in a large open style restaurant overlooking a mainly quiet street. Adequate pool with bar close by. Friendly helpful staff and friendly clientele.
If hearing running water in the night would bother you, don't get the villa immediately past the pool.
A number of upmarket restaurants in the area, but I don't patronise them. Also a number of inexpensive warungs, my favourite being Warung Sobat. http://warungsobat.tripod.com/
A bit of a walk to the beach. On the way a good honest money changer in the front office of Bali Mystique, right alongside the road.
Usually plenty of cruising taxis. Only a few minutes and 2 or 3 dollars [including the rounding-up tip] into Legian or Kuta. I would say very pleasant for a quiet budget hotel.
