No-one is allowed to leave their Hotel. No traffic on the island, no flights in or out.
You can spend time at the Hotel pool and eat only within the boundaries of the Hotel. Minimal lighting and generally peace and quiet.
Leading up to Nyepi, there are street parades where the Ogah-ogah's scare off the evil spirits. On Nyepi day, if the evil spirits return, they see Bali is not habited so go elsewhere.
Just plan a day of resting, reading, swimming and recuperation and enjoy the day.
Hotels with restaurants usually offer buffet meals but be careful not to plan to eat too late, ie after dark as it can get very hard to see what is on the buffet!
