hi - was looking up customs stuff the other day and it used to work that you could bring in just the 1.25L (1 bottle), but that if you brought in a 2nd bottle and declared it then it was included as a part of your other allowances. HOWEVER, the new rules (for the 2.25L of alcohol) says that even if you declare the excess alcohol, because the limit has been raised you will now get charged for every ml you bring in over that. I think the new rules are from the 1st of feb?? hope that helps :)
