We had a get together with friend from germany at the bali bagia was nice to see all the boys who work there too, food always excellent there.
Visited our friends on the beach (in front of the inna kuta hotel, had terrific massage once again with number 39 (wayan) a few bintangs and bartered for tshirts, sarongs etc.The beach was a mess first few days, never seen so much wood and debris, but after few days was all cleaned up.
We visited uncle norms restaurant, great to catch up with robbie, eddie and norm and joey popped in to say his girlfriend arriving in a few days time.
Uncle norm trying to get visa sorted out as he hopes to come to Rockingham later this month, they have had a excellent year with restaurant, had some renovation done and was closed for few days, so he took all his staff to lombok for shory hol, (he is a great boss) did see the photos and a good time was had by all.
we went to "Ma Jollys" was lovely great food and service, but a little more expensive than it used to be.ate at the pantae, was good tree house good food and so cheap.
We all love the irish pub (guinness pie) yum ! good group and boys able to play pool.
Think those first eight days just generally caught up with balinese friends and ate!Oh found Tuban very busy traffic wise, think maybe everyone going to new shopping centre.
After eight days we moved to Sanurrr (as it is pronounced)to the Gazebo hotel once again , had already chose our rooms back in march and booked via email, payed on arrival, no probs.just love the beach side there, a bit sad all the stalls etc beach side gone, but was quite a few in restaurants at night, our favourite "Benos" as we are friendly with Karry who runs it, her family too are lovely.
Was much quiter in Sanur but found it more relaxing after Kuta Legian.
We love the laser bar, the trophy pub and of course Donalds restaurant on the beach.
We noticed The Cat & Fiddle as moved ! directly opp the trophy bar much bigger restaurant and very good .
My daughter and i went with jimmy our friend to denpasar to shop , but reall think easier at the new centro karkita as it is air con, and some great shops , lots with "discon" prices.
Visited tootsies several times also shopped with other stalls , and Hardys too ! was busy shopping for all our xmas prezzies.
Was very sad ! whilst in Sanur we learnt our very dear friend in new zealand was not getting over op for stomach cancer and was in a coma ! there on i was at the cyber cafe all the time untill finally the day we left Sanurrr she died.(22nd dec) so can imagine was a pretty sad xmas despite being in bali on hol.
We love Sanurrr and always have at least 6 days there, more laid back and beach is so nice.
22nd dec we moved to Adhi Dharma hotel, ( usually we stay at cottages ) but was full, hubby and i stayed there before and is good, friendly, clean for a budget hotel it is great.
More shopping , dvd's playstation 2 tshirts etc (found good sport shop in new centre and great discon (even got myself and hubby "speedo" bathers ) cant remember now, how much but was so cheap.went mad at the "body shop" (think we all had lovely "smelly xmas)
First night we had dinner in the hotel, was a lovely roast, had great group and i excelled (or was slightly intoxicated) i actually sung !! with the group lol ! never lived that down with the family , but what the hell was on hol who cares !
The rate was excellent all the time we were there, so more and more shopping eating drinking and being merry (why not ) made me realize life is to be lived after losing our dear friend.
