Well, they were charging AUD$45 per head for the buffet breakfast which I guess is on a par with the better hotels in the world. It is a great buffet indeed! But you can get something not so extravagant but just as satisfying and filling for $1.50 just up the road in Tanjung Benoa (banana pancakes).

We also ate pizza at the outdoor garden cafe/restaurant which was their cheapest place. The pizzas cost close to $20 each from memory and they were of a size that could be eaten by most people. Nothing large about them in any way. I must say they were nice pizzas and the setting was much better than most of the places in Kuta, but the value for money ratio just did not stack up for me. Perhaps that's because we had been experiencing much better value for money in other locations prior to this (kuta/Ubud) and we weren't prepared for the inflated prices.

So in short, if you're the type of person that travels to different places around the world and always eat at the restaurants of 4 and 5 star hotels, you won't be shocked by these prices. If you're not used to this sort of holiday and are perhaps even a little conscious of money, you'd be better off eating (and perhaps staying) elsewhere.
