I was thinking mainly of mining companies, but if you check the tag on your Yakka shirt, you'll find it's made in Indonesia, along with many other clothing companies (the ones that haven't moved the factories to China).

I agree, though, that smaller foreign businesses seem to have a lot of crap to deal with in Indonesia. I guess it's a lot easier if you have vast resources to use for payoffs.

I don't know how any of these companies are performing at the moment, but I do know that if a mining company has been operating for decades in the same place, it's not losing money every year.

Who is the "they" in your final sentence, and what do you mean by "decisive means"? I was a bit confused by that.
