I just wanted to add my negative experience in Bali, but I do want to stress that this was one bad experience and have since returned on a couple of occasions due to more happier occasions had on the island. I was 28 (2 years ago) at the time and on my last night in Bali before going to the airport I decided to go for a traditional Bali massage. I was given a flyer on the streets of Kuta to this place, can't remember the name or address, it was in Seminyak I think. I will follow up details and post. As I was enjoying my massage I started dosing off, I woke suddenly when I found this mans mouth over my genitals. I abused the hell out of him, grabbed my clothes, my girlfriend in the next room and left. I was in a daze not being able to comprehend how I could have allowed this to happen. Luckily as we walked down the lane to the main street, a police vehichle was driving down. I realised I was quite lucky because over the 2 weeks there I had rarely spotted a police vehicle.
Anyway, the police went back with me, the massage guy was huddled in a ball in the corner frightened. The police looked after me and my girlfriend, drove us back to the Hotel after arresting this guy. The police I found look down on this sort of thing. The island relies on tourists and anything that may give the island a bad name, especially in this way is seriously looked down on. The Hotel where I was staying offered me an extra room, at this stage I had already checked out, to allow me to shower and rest before organising a car to the airport. As I said earlier, one bad experience, I still love the island, I still love the balinese.
