and congratulations on your vigilance. The observations you make are remarkable in their detail and send a chilling message to parents of teenagers the world over, blonde headed or otherwise.

As the father of 6 children, 4 of them blondes, and resident in several countries over many years I think your concerns could be applied as valuable advice in many localities. Bali is of course the focus of this forum and like so many others has places where vigilance around our children needs to be heightened.

Rather uniquely however Bali also has a preponderance of locales where this vigilance can responsibly be relaxed, to a degree not possible elsewhere. That is what makes it such a family friendly destination - a source of considerable irritation no doubt to competitors but timelessly true; to their even greater irritation.

You really should try to escape from the areas that attract the kind of lecher you describe. Okay, its a big stretch but when I visited Sydney we didn't let the kids wander around Kings Cross. Maybe try Sanur next time.

BTW the Nabakovs of the world are more often found in Western educational institutions and seem to have crossed gender recently - wish I'd had the luck of that Melbourne schoolboy or the Seattle teenager.
