im hoping that my trip in May will not bring me back with another ear infection as the last two trips (2003 & 2004) have both had me down with ear infections, the last one of which I was deaf (like you) for over 6 weeks. My ear drum was so swollen they couldnt even reach the crux of the problem! Apparently it is from the swimming pools and the lack of attendance to them since the Bali bombings. Everyone knows it takes a lot to maintain a pool and I guess they are suffering in the upkeep of the pools, which is a shame. Still this time I am determined to keep my head above water to avoid a third encounter!
Great JBR's though - really enjoyed reading them - you guys are hooked - another trip planned already - so it's all good! I can relate to the orphanage experience - I took over 30kgs of stuff last time and they were so very happy - it is very humbling to see the joy we bring, which to us seems so little, but to them it is a huge help. Well done.
