Forgot to mention but your comment reminded me that this guy I described did have darker skin than the average Balinese. Was tempted to describe him as Javanese but as I don't know for sure will stick with the decription of Indonesian. He also asked my son if he likes Jiggy-Jig, but then so do a lot of the locals in jest.
Am shocked to hear so many people posting in this short time having had similar experiences.
