have persistant hawkers. In Kalibukbuk there were quite a few but in Anturan (a village further along towards Singaraja) where we stayed at Villa Agung had a strict policy that they were not allowed onto the property. Ok they would stand on the beach and say hello and try and get your attention while you were on the property. If it annoys you, you swap beach chairs so you are not facing them, not a problem, or just say no and them don't engage with them. But we would go and say hello, buy a few shells or a sarong and they would leave you alone. We met some wonderful people on the beach, and we enjoyed meeting them.
