I stay at the Besakih every year and I love it. Its got such a friendly, family feel to it. We don't have kids but we always go in a group of about 8 people (aged between 24-31)and we have a ball. The staff are great and whether you are there to sit up late and drink in the pool with friends or relax with the kids, you'll have a great time. Its a 3 star hotel I think but not by Australian standards, remember thats Bali standards. The breakfast was beautiful, the aircons worked fine and the staff were always very accommodating if we needed something fixed. We had them in to spray our room for mozzies and fix our toilet on one occassion all of which are not uncommon anywhere in Bali. It was 2 lovely pools and a great atmosphere! Laser Bar across the road is a great place for a drink and the manager Dunna is the King. For some stupid reason I was allowed to sing with the band while my bro played drums one night! There are some wondeful restaurants near by too. If you stay there you have to eat at the Italian Restaurant on the main street (Tamblingan), I've forgotten the name of it but someone will fill you in. It's better than alot of Italian restaurants in Melbourne mind you. Also Benno's on the beach and Zoo on the main street as well. You wont be disappointed in the hotel, Im a big wrap for the staff as well, really friendly! Mind you I have stayed at other Bali hotels so Im talking in comparison, its not always been Besakih for me so Im not totally bias. One other tip - when booking a room, ask for the hotel wing. The bungalows are a bit older therefore the aircons aren't as efficient (I found). Enjoy - sorry to babble on.
