I have stayed at Kuta Seaview many times over a period of five years. The hotel is located right across the street from Kuta beach in between the two Poppies gangs. The hotel has a mini wall to keep touts from interfering with your sun-bathing by the pool. The pool itslef is quite large and has about a third of its area that is relatively shallow. If you are staying somewhere else in Kuta, you can test the pool for like ten thousand rupiah. This would also give you a chance to size up the deluxe cottages. The deluxe cottages (my favorite) are adjacent to the lobby and behind the pool and restaurant. If you encounter a downpour in the rainy season then you will be happy to note that the bungalows are (at least) six feet higher than the pathways which cannels water out of the hotel area. There is a powerful A/C in each room with two beds (beware the cold floor in the morning if you have the A/C turned up. The bathrooms are clean and hotel service staff are accomodating. There is also Sat. TV in each room. The small porches are great also. Security is GREAT.
Detractions:
Water from downpours do not dissipate quickly from the pathways leaving you the option to hike up pants/dresses and go shoeless until you get to the other side of the deep puddle.
Do not pay the night staff the balance of the room. Pay the day staff. An additional day may be added to your bill.
Wake up calls should be made with the day staff as well - not the night staff. I have almost missed flights because of this.
It is a healthy walk to/from Jl. Legian by either gang (Poppies I or II) but this should not detract from the nice location of relaxing at your hotel.
Final Comment: I have not stayed at the White Rose but this is the hotel that I have stayed in for months. For the price, its lacation and service are the best that I have found. Enjoy you holiday!
