Arrived back a couple of days ago, have been exhausted and have no reason for it as the agenda was relax and unwind which was accomplished with a flurry of intermittent shopping between lapping up some luxury at Downtown Villas.

Bali was quiet which surprised me given that so many people travel at this time of year, although seemed to pick up in the last couple of days.

Caught up with many friends and some forumites - Ran into Butchr and her daughter, Mitch, Bob_melb and Christine, & Tonyg to name a few.

Downtown Villas are exsquisite, extremely private and I cannot recommend this property highly enough. It is worth every cent, the service, staff, facilities and attention to detail are second to none.

Had Xmas dinner at Gado Gado it was fantastic, the food and service were brilliant. We splurged on Moet and Mumms french champagne and ate till we could not put another thing in our mouths. The waiter serving us was first class, tipped him 200,000. Nothing was too much trouble. The evening was perfect sitting outside with a gentle breeze to cool us. The best Xmas day for many years

Caught up with Kerry and Milton who kindly had organized a supply of champagne for me. They are lovely people.

Purchased some stunning jewellery at Mayang Jewellers in Kuta Square. Ruby and diamond ring and bracelet...the credit card took a hammering [big time].

Visited the Pub to catch up with long time friends Ketut and Made, still the best sates in Bali....shopped at Geneva [love it]. So much to do and so little time. In between all of this watched the tragedy of the earthquake and Tsunami unwind before our eyes on cable tv....

much more to tell and if I can find it in me I will post in further detail soon. Any questions feel free to ask. Cheers to all and Happy new year...
